Tabarestan Steel Foundry (TSF) began its operations for the oil and petroleum industries in 1995, marking its entry into the sector with the production of tube sheet castings for the Abadan Oil Refinery during its critical reconstruction project.

Since then, we have established a legacy of excellence. In recognition of our technical achievements, TSF was honored by the Ministry of Petroleum in 2005 as the Top Alloy Steel Manufacturer. Among our most significant technical milestones are the successful development and production of the advanced 50Cr-50Ni-Nb and 45Ni-35Cr-Nb alloys.

1. Furnace Components for Oil and Petrochemical Refineries

Producing furnace components represents one of the most complex challenges in the casting industry. These parts require extreme dimensional precision and often feature very thin wall thicknesses relative to their overall size and weight, all while meeting demanding technical requirements to ensure a long service life.

Leveraging a highly skilled technical team and specialized casting techniques, TSF successfully produces even the most intricate components with excellent metallurgical quality.

Trusted by National Refineries Today, TSF is recognized as a reliable domestic manufacturer for major refineries across Iran, including:

  • Tehran Oil Refinery
  • Isfahan Oil Refinery
  • Abadan Oil Refinery
  • Shazand Arak Oil Refinery
  • Bandar Abbas Oil Refinery
  • Tabriz Oil Refinery
  • Kermanshah Oil Refinery
  • Shiraz Oil Refinery

Key Product Portfolio Our main products for this sector include:

  • Dampers
  • Headers
  • Wall Side Supports
  • Locking Bars
  • Tube Supports
  • Tube Hangers
  • Tube Guides
  • Tube Sheets

Standards and Quality Assurance All products strictly comply with relevant international standards, including:

  • ASTM: A447, A351, A297, A216, A217, A560
  • DIN: EN 10295

To ensure the highest level of quality and performance, every component undergoes comprehensive destructive and non-destructive testing, including chemical analysis, ultrasonic testing (UT), radiography (RT), and dye penetrant testing (PT).

2. Production of Special Alloy Components – ASTM A560 (50Cr-50Ni-Nb)

The 50Cr-50Ni-Nb alloy, also known as Inconel 657, is a high-strength alloy containing Chromium, Nickel, and Niobium.

Why It Matters: This alloy is an enhanced version of the standard 50Cr-50Ni grade. It offers superior creep resistance and exceptional corrosion resistance against fuel ash and high-temperature combustion gases. Studies have demonstrated that its corrosion resistance can be up to 12 times higher than that of the conventional 25Cr-20Ni alloy.

Localized Production: Previously imported due to its production complexity, this alloy is critical for Iranian refineries. TSF has successfully localized this technology, utilizing advanced technical expertise and equipment to produce numerous components using Inconel 657.

Research & Application: Through collaborative research projects with the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI), TSF has completed tests for chemical composition, mechanical properties, and high-temperature stress rupture. This success has enabled the expanded production of Tube Hangers, Tube Sheets, Tube Supports, and Dampers using this special alloy.

3. Project Spotlight: Bushehr Petrochemical Methanol Unit (2015-2016)

Building on extensive experience, TSF signed a contract in late 2015 for the production of 24 sets of tube sheets for the Bushehr Petrochemical Methanol Unit. These components were ordered through Tasha Machinery Company.

A National Milestone: 45Ni-35Cr-Nb A significant highlight of this project was the first-time domestic production of tube sheets made from the 45Ni-35Cr-Nb alloy (DIN 1.4889) in Iran. Originally developed by a French company, this advanced alloy is essential for petrochemical applications, offering excellent high-temperature strength and exceptional resistance to carburization.

Through focused R&D and metallurgical optimization, TSF produced these large, dimensionally complex parts within a short timeframe.

Delivery & Standards All components underwent comprehensive destructive and non-destructive tests and inspection by TakinCo. They were successfully delivered to Tasha Machinery Company in November 2016, and installation in the furnaces was completed smoothly without issues.

The project adhered to the following strict standards:

  • Production Standards: DIN EN 10295, ASTM A351, ASTM A297, ASTM A217.
  • Testing Standards: ASTM E446, ASME BPVC Sec. VIII, ASTM E165, ASTM E433, ASTM A370.
  • Delivery Conditions: DIN EN 1559-1,2, ASTM A703, ASTM A781.

4. Recent Projects: Kangan & Hormoz Petrochemical

Kangan Petrochemical Olefin Project (2020) Following the success at Bushehr, and based on the technical recommendation of Tasha Machinery, TSF was awarded the contract in 2020 for the production of all tube supports and brackets for the furnaces of the Kangan Petrochemical Olefin Project.

  • Client: Falcon Kobai Company.
  • Scope: Approximately 110 tons of components in various designs.
  • Result: All parts underwent third-party inspection and were delivered within six months, meeting all technical and delivery requirements.

Hormoz Petrochemical Olefin Project (2024) In 2024, TSF produced full sets of tube sheets and brackets for the Hormoz Olefin project.

  • Client: Chamaan Company.
  • Scope: Approximately 120 tons of heat-resistant cast steel.
  • Variety: Spanning 33 different types of components.
