One of the cornerstone product groups at Tabarestan Steel Foundry (TSF) is ball mill metallic liners, a production line that dates back to the very start-up of our foundry.

TSF supplies a comprehensive range of ball mill liners and diaphragms serving the majority of Iranian cement plants, as well as Iron Ore and Alumina facilities. Beyond the domestic market, we have successfully expanded our reach, exporting a great variety of cement mill liners to Christian Pfeiffer Beckum (CPB) and FLSmidth.

Project References and Track Record

TSF has a proven history of delivering high-quality components designed by world-renowned engineering firms. Below are key reference projects:

  • Saveh Cement: Supply of all liners for raw and cement ball mills (white cement department) continuously since 1994. Designed and inspected by FCB France.
  • Hamah Cement: Supply of all liners for cement ball mills. Designed by FLSmidth; assigned to TSF through EHDAS SANAT Company and delivered in mid-2006.
  • Kavir Kashan Cement: Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by Polysius.
  • Saruj Cement: Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by KHD.
  • Benvid White Cement: Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by TKF.
  • Ardestan Cement: Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by Polysius.
  • Abadeh Cement (Extension Project): Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by Christian Pfeiffer Beckum (CPB).
  • Ilam Cement (Optimization Project): Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by CPB.
  • Uromieh Cement (Extension Project): Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by Polysius.
  • Lamerd Cement: Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by FLSmidth.
  • Khuzestan Cement (Extension Project): Production of liners for the cement ball mill, designed by FLSmidth.
  • Neyriz White Cement: Production of diaphragms for ball mills based on a Japanese design.
  • Gharb Asia Cement: Supply of the whole set of liners and diaphragms for two cement mills, designed by Cemag.
  • Larestan Cement: Production of liners for raw and cement ball mills based on a Chinese design.

Optimization Projects

We actively collaborate with foreign consultants to perform optimization projects for both raw and cement ball mills. The primary goals of these initiatives are to increase overall mill output and improve liner design for better grinding action and extended lifespan.

Case Study: Zarin Rafsanjan Cement Our latest optimization project was accomplished in cooperation with Christian Pfeiffer Beckum (CPB) at Zarin Rafsanjan Cement. The results were significant:

  • An increase of more than 20% in the cement mill’s output.
  • An achieved increase in the cement product Blaine number.

Cooperation with International Leaders

FLSmidth Following rigorous technical evaluations of several Iranian foundry factories by FLSmidth experts, TSF succeeded in signing a formal collaboration agreement with the company.

  • Direct Orders: As a consequence of this agreement, the liners for the 1st chamber of cement ball mills for Lamerd and Khuzestan Cement (expansion projects) were ordered directly by FLSmidth.
  • Quality Assurance: All parts were delivered only after being inspected and approved by FLSmidth inspectors.

Christian Pfeiffer Beckum (CPB): As part of our strategy to develop the export market, TSF maintained continuous and extended cooperation with Christian Pfeiffer Beckum.

  • Scope: A major portion of these orders consists of liners for ball mills featuring boltless and semi-bolted designs.
  • Direct Export: In addition to this cooperation, individual orders have also been assigned to TSF by end-users in Germany, such as CEMEX GmbH.

Solutions and Material Selection

To assure the best combination of wear and impact resistance, TSF selects the most suitable material for each mill from a wide range of specialized alloys:

  • High Chromium Steels: Containing 0.3–1.2% Carbon and 6–12% Chromium.
  • High Cr-Cast Irons: Containing 2.2–3.5% Carbon and 15–25% Chromium.

The Selection Process: The specific grade and hardness are determined by reviewing critical factors, including the type of mill, the size and volume of balls, and other operational characteristics.

Performance Guarantee: Due to our precision engineering and material quality, TSF guarantees the lifetime of our ball mill liners up to 50,000 hours.
